All About Me! Hi and thanks for visiting me today. My name is Gretchen Marie Duever and I am a miniature long-haired dachshund. I live with my Mom, Dad and brother outside of St. Louis, Missouri. I also have a sister named Jasmine, who is a cat. I like Jasmine, but she's not too sure about me. In the backyard there are chickens that live in their own house and pen. I love to chase chickens, but Mom and Dad say that I shouldn't do that. Darn! And sometimes we have geese and ducks in the yard, but Mom won't let me near them either. Doggone it. I was born on October 11, 2006. Mom and Dad adopted me when I was almost three months old. I was the last one left in my litter. Can you believe that? As cute as I am and I was the last one? E ating is one of my very most favorite things in the world. I like to wake Mom up about 4:30 a.m. for breakfast. Why wait for a good thing, right? At dinner time, I like to sit on my own chair and watch Mom and Dad eat. They always give me samples. I like everything, even green beans! My next favorite thing is to chase Jasmine around the house. She plays with me sometimes and other times she just swats me in the head. When Jasmine needs some alone time, she runs downstairs to get away from me since she kno ws I can't go down the stairs. I'm too little. I have a Grandpa and Grandma. Grandpa is my best buddy. I love to visit with them. Grandpa and Grandma have a pony and cows. The pony kind of scares me. I just run past him and out into the pasture. I know enough (usually) not to get too close to the cows. They think I'm interesting and try to come over to get a closer look. I only let them get so close and then I run away. Then I like to turn around and bark at them. They seem to like it. I think its important to be entertaining. I love to visit my Uncle Jim and Aunt Valerie who live on a farm about an hour away from us. They have a dog named Honey and a cat named Sammy. Sammy is my best friend. We love to play and wrestle. Uncle Jim and Aunt Valerie have chickens too. When no one is looking, sometimes I chase them. But don't tell on me, okay? I'm not supposed to do that.
