Mom took me to see the vet for a checkup. I love my doctor. She is so nice to me. The doctor said I was the prettiest dachshund and very sweet. Everyone there pets me and gives me treats. If it wasn't for the shots, it would be perfect.
I had to get one shot. Ouch! But I was very brave. And I had to get some drops in my nose, too. Eewww. I didn't like that either, but I tried not to wiggle too much. Then I got another treat for being so good. Not bad, if you ask me.
I weigh 14 pounds. The doctor said I need to lose a pound, so Mom bought some diet dog food for me. I don't care if it's diet food, it all tastes good to me. I think that might be part of the problem. That and the fact that I am a champion begger. I jump up on Mom or Dad's legs and look at them with my big brown eyes and my most pathetic look. That usually does the trick. Dad is a softer touch than Mom. At dinner time, I get to sit on one of the chairs so I can see what Mom and Dad are eating. I always get samples. I don't like green beans much, but other than that, I'll eat pretty much anything.
Anyway, when we were done at the doctor, Mom took me shopping. I got a new winter coat. Its brown cordoroy with pink flowers embroidered on it. And I got a new toy. It looks like a dessert with strawberries on top and best of all, it squeaks!
I love it when Mom and Dad throw it and I get to chase it. What fun!
All in all, another great day.
