A New Baby Calf

We made another trip up to visit Uncle Jim and Aunt Valerie.  I love to visit with them and I get to visit my friend Sammy, the cat.  I chased a few chickens, too (ha ha).  But, Mom caught me chasing them and made me stop.  Not fair, Mom!

We all took a ride over to Grandma and Grandpa's farm.  And guess what?  There was a brand new baby calf that had just been born.  Uncle Jim caught the calf while Daddy gave the Mommy cow some corn to keep her busy.  Uncle Jim and Daddy checked over the new baby and then tagged its ear so Grandpa can keep track of it.  I tried to get really close, but when the Mommy cow started toward me, I ran away fast!

Uncle Jim gave Daddy two of his chickens for us to take home to our flock.  They rode home with us in a cat carrier in the backseat.  I made a big fuss and wanted to be right next to them.  Finally, Mom made me come up front and sit with her so I wouldn't scare the chickens.  And my whining was giving her a headache.  Gee whiz!

What fun to go exploring the farm.  There's always something new to see.  Here's a slideshow of my day.
